Excellence in care and experience is at the heart of everything we do. Our daily commitment to all patients and clinicians is to provide the highest quality service and be responsive to your medical imaging needs.
Cutting edge in CT Imaging
We provide a comprehensive range of CT scans including advanced examinations such as CT coronary angiograms, CT virtual colonography, CT-guided procedures, and dual-energy CT scans. Our scans are performed on modern low-radiation dose CT scanners and are reported by experienced medical experts to provide the highest quality care to our patients.
CT (or Computed Tomography) scanners are a ring-shaped machine with a hole in the middle. During your scan, you will lie on a bed and the bed will take you through the hole of the machine. Your CT scan allows doctors to obtain very detailed images of the body including 3D images. This allows our radiologists to accurately visualise and diagnose any abnormalities.
Depending on the requirements of your CT scan, you may be injected with a special dye to help the radiologist easily identify structures such as blood vessels and soft tissues.
A typical CT scan may take between 5-10 minutes to perform and the scanning process is painless.
CT scans involve the use of X-ray radiation. The radiation dose you receive depends on the type of CT scan you are referred for and is kept as low as possible to ensure that the benefits of the test will outweigh any potential risks to you. We operate modern CT scanners at Northern Imaging Victoria, which have the ability to scan at the lowest radiation dose.
